I am a computer scientist by training, with a cross disciplinary background in Human Computer Interaction, Natural Language Processing and Education. I am experienced in building product research teams that use qualitative and quantitative data to generate actionable insights and influence product direction. Thanks for visiting my homepage!
I currently support a team of researchers and managers at Google. Collectively we try to make Google Search better through quant and qual data.
I supported various teams on Facebook Messenger, including Messenger Business, Trust/Privacy and Messenger Kids.
I managed the research team for Sales Cloud, which is the CRM product at Salesforce and includes Pardot, a B2B marketing product.
I was the founding member and later the manager for the data research team at Uber. The team focused on building analytics, visualization, real-time monitoring and machine learning products for Uber employees. In addition I kickstarted a research team that focused on self-driving cars.
I was a Collaboration and UX Researcher in the Connected Experience Lab at GE Research in San Ramon. I was part of a team that designed, built and evaluated systems for GE's businesses including (but not restricted to) energy, healthcare and transportation. During this time I also acted as the front-end engineering lead for SmartOutage app. The app is still used by thousands of field engineers to do job scheduling, document management and networking (via a newsfeed).
Apart from being a research leader, I also enjoy hiking, photography, reading and Xbox games.
Outside of work, most often I can be found hanging out with my wife Devanshi, my son Parth and my dog Milo.
My brother Ambuj Tewari is a Professor in Statistics at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
